Warranty Policy

we aim to provide customers with quality engines and accurate product information. This Warranty Policy explains the general warranty terms that apply to eligible engines and engine components purchased from us.

Because engines may be sold in different conditions and configurations, the specific warranty applicable to a product will be stated on the product listing, quotation, invoice or sales agreement where applicable.

1. Warranty Coverage

Where a written warranty is provided, Forged & Stocked Engines warrants that the covered engine or component will be free from defects in materials and workmanship during the stated warranty period, subject to the terms and exclusions of this policy.

Warranty coverage may vary depending on whether the engine is:

  • Used
  • Rebuilt
  • Remanufactured
  • Crate
  • Complete
  • Forged
  • Performance-built
  • New or surplus

No warranty period should be assumed unless it is specifically stated in writing.

2. Warranty Period

The applicable warranty period will be specified on the relevant product page, quotation, invoice or sales documentation.

If no written warranty period is provided, the product should be considered sold without a specific written warranty, subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

3. What the Warranty Covers

Where applicable, warranty coverage may include defects directly attributable to the engine or component supplied by Forged & Stocked Engines.

Examples may include:

  • Internal mechanical defects
  • Manufacturing defects
  • Certain material defects
  • Defects specifically identified in the written warranty documentation

Warranty coverage applies only to the components and conditions specifically covered by the applicable warranty.

4. What Is Not Covered

Unless expressly agreed in writing, the warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by:

  • Incorrect installation
  • Improper engine assembly
  • Incorrect tuning or calibration
  • Overheating
  • Low oil pressure or oil starvation
  • Lack of proper lubrication
  • Incorrect fuel or contaminated fuel
  • Detonation or pre-ignition
  • Excessive boost
  • Racing or competition use
  • Abuse, misuse or neglect
  • Modifications made after purchase
  • Improper maintenance
  • Installation of incompatible components
  • Electrical or electronic components not covered by the warranty
  • Damage caused during installation or transportation after delivery
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by an accident or external event

Performance engines may require specialised installation, tuning, fuel systems, cooling systems and supporting components. Failure resulting from an unsuitable supporting system may not be covered.

5. Performance & Modified Engines

Performance-built, forged and modified engines may be designed for specific applications and operating conditions.

Horsepower and torque figures are estimates or build specifications and are not guarantees of a particular power output unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the engine is properly installed, tuned and matched with the vehicle and supporting components.

6. Installation Requirements

For warranty consideration, the engine must be installed by a suitably qualified mechanic or professional installer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The installation should follow the manufacturer’s or builder’s recommendations.

Customers should verify, where applicable:

  • Oil level and oil pressure
  • Cooling system operation
  • Fuel system compatibility
  • Ignition and ECU calibration
  • Timing
  • Engine mounting
  • Wiring and electrical connections
  • Intake and exhaust systems
  • Transmission compatibility
  • Proper break-in procedures

Failure to follow appropriate installation and break-in procedures may void applicable warranty coverage.

7. Inspection Before Installation

Customers should inspect the engine and packaging promptly after delivery.

Before installation, verify:

  • Engine identification
  • Engine configuration
  • Visible condition
  • Included components
  • Shipping damage
  • Compatibility with the intended application

Any visible damage or discrepancy should be reported to us as soon as possible and, where applicable, documented with photographs or video.

Do not install or operate an engine that appears to have significant shipping damage until the issue has been reported and instructions have been received.

8. Making a Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, contact Forged & Stocked Engines using the contact information below.

Please provide:

  • Customer name
  • Order or invoice number
  • Engine identification information
  • Vehicle information
  • Date of installation
  • Description of the problem
  • Photographs and/or videos where appropriate
  • Diagnostic information
  • Service or installation documentation where requested

We may require additional information or inspection before determining whether a claim qualifies for warranty coverage.

9. Warranty Inspection

Forged & Stocked Engines may require an engine or component to be inspected, tested or returned before approving a warranty claim.

Customers should not disassemble, modify or repair a suspected defective component without prior written authorisation where doing so could affect the warranty investigation.

If an independent inspection is required, the customer may initially be responsible for the inspection or shipping costs, subject to the final warranty determination.

10. Warranty Remedies

If a valid warranty claim is approved, the remedy may, at our discretion and subject to applicable law, include:

  • Repair of the affected component
  • Replacement of the affected component
  • Replacement of the engine
  • Provision of an equivalent product
  • Other remedy agreed upon by the parties

The specific remedy will depend on the nature of the defect, availability of replacement parts or engines and the terms of the applicable warranty.

11. Labour & Additional Costs

Unless expressly stated in writing, warranty coverage does not automatically include:

  • Installation labour
  • Removal labour
  • Diagnostic charges
  • Towing
  • Vehicle rental
  • Lost income
  • Downtime
  • Storage
  • Additional freight
  • Customs duties
  • Taxes
  • Import fees
  • Other indirect expenses

Any coverage of these costs must be confirmed in writing.

12. Shipping Damage

Shipping damage is generally handled separately from mechanical warranty claims.

Customers should inspect deliveries promptly and retain all original packaging and shipping documentation when damage is discovered.

Photographs of the packaging, shipping label and damaged engine should be provided when reporting a shipping issue.

13. Used Engines

Used engines may show normal signs of previous use, including cosmetic wear, surface corrosion, oil residue or other age-related characteristics.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, cosmetic condition does not constitute a warranty defect.

The warranty for a used engine, if any, applies only to the specific components and conditions stated in the applicable sales documentation.

14. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for:

  • Confirming engine compatibility before purchase
  • Providing accurate vehicle and application information
  • Proper professional installation
  • Correct tuning and calibration
  • Proper maintenance
  • Using appropriate fluids and filters
  • Following recommended break-in procedures
  • Maintaining supporting systems in proper working condition

15. Changes to Warranty Terms

Warranty terms may vary between products, suppliers, manufacturers and engine configurations.

The warranty terms stated on the applicable quotation, invoice, product listing or written sales agreement may take precedence over general terms in this policy where legally permitted.

16. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Warranty Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any consumer guarantee, statutory warranty or other legal right that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Customers in the United States may have additional rights under applicable federal or state law.
